TP AS is having an Overseas Community Project (OCP) to Cambodia next week and yes it involves some of our classmates if it didn't I wouldn't be mentioning about it here okay yah so let's get back to the topic.

So.................................. I've heard, the OCP Missionaries had to go through grueling weeks of preparation for the OCP which is to um um um I'm not sure but it's something to do with stomach cancer or sumth'in like that just saying what I heard so um congrats on the hardwork and perseverance for um making it through the prep weeks now you guys have to actually go there and do whatever it is you guys are supposed to do for the next week which is from 05/10/09-10/10/09!

Oh wait I forgot to mention who the chosen G3 Missionaries are so yeah I'm gonna mention them right now please give a round of applauze to them people even though they absolutely cannot hear it maybe they'll feel us clapping for them so what they hey here they are:

Dear G3-ians, the holidays are almost over, and Term 2 is beginning. Here are a few important annoucements.

For everyone

For the first week of the semester, students who have returned from countries with sustained community transmission or SCT (United States, Canada, Chile, Mexico, Australia, United Kingdom, Argentina, Japan, Spain, Thailand, Panama, Philippines and Dominican Republic) are to be given Leave of Absence (LOA) for 7 days from their date of return to Singapore and asked to stay home. This would apply to students on official as well as personal trips.Please inform your careperson if you just return from the affected countries and keep your careperson updated on your health condition.

For the awesome PST peeps

There will be FPATH lecture tomorrow from 4pm to 6pm. The venue for us BMS students is LT5. Do turn up because its a debrief on our term test.

Also, take note that we need to hand in a FILA draft for our PLM PBL project on week 11, which is the week after next.

Lastly, OCII assignment deadline is on week 12.

e-Learning leaves even the strongest, toughest and smartest A8G3-ians wasted!

Two weeks after the start of A8G3's Semester 2.1, reports done by the Intelligence Department has shown that 66.31% of the A8G3-ians are likely to fall asleep in school. After a thorough investigation by our future PM Lee Hwa Leong, it was revealed that the culprit of this whole affair to be 'FPATH'. 'FPATH' is a deadly virus that forces students to go into a state of trance and sit in front of their computers reading walls of text. And not to mention, once students are in front of their computers, they spend up to a minimum of 10 hours straight. Let's take a closer look at the people infected by this deadly virus.

There has been speculations about past events, and the underdog socialite of our times, Syad.

Past closed cases of events that have occurred, nicknamed by the public as "DD-DAYS", have been given the green sign to be re-investigated. Apparently there has been new leads on the "natural" causes of the untimely events. It is not known if the cases were already solved when they were on order for closure.

If so, that would mean that Syad is a time-traveler/has time-traveled. If so, he may be convicted under the Global High Authority Defiance Act for Unauthorised Temporal-Spatial Shift, without the knowledge of any higher order personnel.

He is already being tested on trial for the allegations of encouraging and promoting the model subculture of Anorexia to males. This is a big blow from accusations and complaints that his arms are skeletal. This goes against the Ruling Order Under Global Hierachy for Socialite EXtraversion, for qualifications to be recognised as Global Socialites.

If you read today's Malay daily newspaper, or happen to come across one lying on the ground beside a man who looks like he is dead but who is actually sleeping at the chess table at void deck of your block, you should flip to page 3 and have a good look at the article.

What seems like normal article would beg you to differ if you have a closer look at the main picture.

What do we have here in the top left hand corner? This malay newspaper stolen from the sleeping malay man at your void deck have treasures behold!

Let's take it up a notch and increase the quality of the shot. Let's hope we'll see a familiar face.

Well yes! Stealing that newspaper and getting almost killed by the wooden slipper thrown at you by that old man who was just sleeping a few seconds ago really did pay off!

Well since school is starting on Monday, yes as we all know, I thought I'd give a run down on what to expect for this Semester for PST-ians, so here goes.

ABM2009 Fundamentals of Pathology
This subject introduces the fundamental knowledge of general and systemic pathology. You will learn the nature and cause of diseases, disease mechanisms as well as structure and functional abnormalities of diseased organs and organ systems.

Er, sounds like HAP/HPI.

ACE2006 Pharmaceutical Unit Operations
This subject emphasises the application of engineering principles in the unit operations commonly employed in the upstream pharmaceutical industry. Topics covered include reagent handling, dissolution, extraction, distillation, crystallisation, filtration and drying. It will also cover the various fractionation processes and mechanical operations including solids handling, sieving, milling and comminution. Commonly used equipment in pharmaceutical manufacturing will also be introduced.

A subject that's more to the "laboratory" side.

APH2004 Pharmaceutical Legislation & Marketing
This subject provides an overview of legislations affecting the pharmaceutical industry. Topics covered include the Poisons Act, the Misuse of Drugs Act, the Medicine Act, the Sale of Drugs Act, the SAPI code of marketing practice and legal status of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It will also provide you with an understanding of basic marketing concepts, tools and techniques pertaining to the commercialisation of pharmaceutical products.

To summarise, it's about the law. There won't be main examinations for this subject. But, there will be a project that will be conducted in groups of 5-6, 2 quizs and 2 term tests.
P.S. The project requires an oral presentation.

ACH1004 Organic Chemistry 2
This subject provides you with the additional concepts in organic chemistry with emphasis placed on reaction mechanisms. Topics covered include nucleophilic substitution and dehydrohalogenation of alkyl halides, structure and properties of derivatives of carboxylic acids, condensation reactions in carbonyl compounds, electrophilic aromatic substitution in aromatic hydrocarbons, phenol and aniline.

Although there are few of us, I would like to post it anyway for the convenience of the masses from other classes. For those of you who are in BMT Class TG02 (explained below) here's the time table available for you're download which is an excel spreadsheet in landscape format that perfectly fits into an A4 size paper;

About the time-table:

1) You need to be in the new BMT Tutorial Group - TG02/PG02 and TG05 for FPATH (the bulk of BMT students in T02/PG02 are from the former A8G3 to A8g5 with some A8G2 students)
2) You need to insert your own CDS.
3) You need to add your APEL time-slot to your own schedule.
4) Double-check with your personal time table to ensure it's error free and EXACTLY the same.

If you've been reading the papers recently, The Straits Times ran an article about Mr Louis Ng, Executive Director of ACRES (Animal Concerns Research and Education Society) who will be giving a speech about Sharks at the Speakers Corner on the 18th of April 2009. What's interesting about it is this:

Chalet 090309: A8G3 Holding Facility

It is a well known fact A8G3ians are a dangerous bunch ranging from the mild schizophrenic to the outright deranged, but little is known as to where these chronic patients live when they're not wrecking havoc in school. This article features a rare a glimpse of the facility holding our dangerously loose classmates. In this article, for the first time ever, you'll be given UNRESTRICTED ACCESS to the A8G3 Holding Facility codenamed: "NSRCC"!

The NSRCC is a state of the art high-security detention facility for the mentally sick and socially inept. It was conceived on 15th April 2009. Many won't recall the events that unfolded on this date save for the few who survived the treacherous days that came after the assembly of a class that is known today as A8G3. Though the students of this class appear mild and socially integrated in school, what lies behind this facade of peace is the facade of a facility that hosts these dangerous students.

Although the facility is built for our dear mental patients it was designed with the intention of providing an extremely calm environment for them so as to make their stay there as normal and comfortable as possible. The interior resembles that of a beautiful modern home to allow our inmates to familiarize with homes of the outside world.

What's more interesting are the inmates within the facility who undergo daily medical treatment for their mental disorders. Mental disorders inherent among the inmates range from the simple, medically recognized and documented problems to the more complex conglomeration of multiple disorders. Here we feature our patient profiles and the disorders they are diagnosed with.

Disorder: Expression Fixation Disorder(D735)
Patients: Hwa Leong(G3080293X), Gina(G3087283W), Syadzarwan(G3088293S), **Cass(F4087349C)

Description: Symptoms include patients being fixated with a particular facial expression and being fixed in a frozen trance for hours on end. The worse case reported was of patient G3080293X, top right, who remained in his "euphoria" expression throughout 46 hours without food or water.

Patient: "Form" Hwa Leong (G3080293X)
Disorder: Torrential Meditatory Disorder(D273)

Description: One of our more extreme cases, patient G3080293X is being featured here with one of his more unique disorders characterized by excessive meditation till the point of exhaustion. Here we see patient G3080293X reaching a state none have achieved and still going strong into his 5th Day.

Patient: Jonathan (G3089312J)
Disorders: Super Hero Complex(D832)
Hallucinatory Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder(D781)

Description: Featured here is one of our more peaceful and quiet patients. Patient G3089312 was diagnosed with D832 & D781. D832 is characterized with the patient exhibiting characteristics of the comic-hero Superman. Patient G3089312X alternates between disorders. On other days the aforementioned patient goes into War veteran mode where he sits on the porch for hours on end "recalling" his fictitious WWII exploits.

Disorder: Zombie Disorder(D543X)
Patients: Navin(G3084832N), Mark(G3082983M)

Description: Typically violent and destructive Zombie state lasting for alternating bouts of 5-10 mins throughout 2 hours.

Patient: Sharifah(G3082984S)
Disorder: Visual Hallucination Materialization Disorder(D666X)

Description: This extremely dangerous disorder initiates with the patient visualizing a monster which materializes within minutes. Here we see Patient G3082984S materializing a monster in the background shortly before being frantically sedated and put under close observation.

Disorder: Retrogade Childhood Disorder(D184)
Patients: Navin(G3084832N), **Cass(F4087349C)

Description: This disorder is characterized by the patients going into a retrograde state. The patients exhibit behaviour akin to 2-year-olds for a few hours a day. Here we see one of our resident "special-case" patients, from A8F4 Patient **F4087349C, Cass.

Disorder: Extreme Homosexualism(D001X)
Patients: Jovan(G3080001J), Mark(G3082983M)

Description: Here in the foreground we see Patient G3080001J going into the final stages of Extreme Homesexualism(D001X). Here he has reached his peak and displays exhibitionist behaviour wherein he walks around naked throughout the facility. In the background we see Patient G3082983M in the initial stages where he starts experiencing hormonal changes.

Thus ends the exclusive glimpse of A8G3's NSRCC Detention Facility. During this report there were multiple sightings of rumoured Patients G308XXXX1 Bowen and G308XXXX2 Karmen. Officials gave a "No comment" reply when queried about these sightings. We can only speculate that these 2 patients are held in a Special Underground Section of the NSRCC facility that our press crew were prohibited from entering or having any knowledge of. It is our hope that the NSRCC Officials would be more transparent about their existence in the near future.

No this is not about our recent class chalet and no this isn't about our disappointing drop in cGPA for Sem 2. This about the IT Show 2009.

This year's IT Show is the biggest yet, spans a total 5 storeys of the Suntec Convention Centre, brimming with gadgets and gizmos to keep consumers from every demograph happy and satisfied with great baragains, discounts and freebies. But sir, what does this have anything to do with school besides the ipod that i use to entertain myself throughout the painstaking commute to school? Just one word: Netbooks.

Yes, exams are over, even for Mark! Cheers! Well, so, I thought I'd interest you guys with pictures of some A8G3-ians at work, or rather, fooling around in Left 4 Dead. Left 4 Dead is a PC game that was released sometime last year. It's a not-so-horror survival game, where you are a survivor and shoots at zombies and such. Without further ado, let's just go onto the pictures.

SUXT of A8G3, with the exception of Mark, after attending CellB Revision lecture, presents to you... an Old Man's face.
This technique, the visual aid in CellB, was imparted to us this evening by the self-proclaimed 'favorite' fat lecturer himself.
Well, on to important parts.

The hair is the cytoskeleton.
Eyes are mitochondria. The number of eyes also hint at there being more than one mitochondria in a cell.
The nose is the nucleus.
The mouth and the double chin is the golgi.
Blackheads (black ones) are ribosomes.
Pimples (red ones) are lysosomes/peroxisomes.

I faintly remember something about stuff from the nose (nucleus) going to the mouth (golgi) and then to the pimples (lysosomes). I think it was something about protein targeting. Can't remember.

Ladies and Gentleforms, it has been a tough week filled with form-filling activities. With the recent CellB quiz 2 leaving us in the dust, let me present to you, our second A8G3ian interview. Guess who's up this time? Yes, as hinted above, it is our one and only, future Prime Minister of Singapore, owner of Lee Hwa Jewelry, the next-in-line for Applied Science Studies Club President...

*drumroll*

LEE HWA LEONG, Mr. Form

Without further ado, let's go onto the interview. We have our interviewer Mr Mitter, and our interviewee Mr Lee.

Navin: Good Morning, Mr Lee
Form: Urm. Morning, Mr Mitter.

Navin: How was your trip to Temasek Poly?
Form: Well, it was okay. It took me a little less than 1 and a half hour. I mean, i take bus 23 to school daily. Not like Jovan of course, where he has his mum take him there. The trip was quite boring, since i didn't have an mp3/PSP/DS like some of my classmates do.

Navin: How's your studies?
Form: It's fine. Personally, I think that there's plenty of room for improvement. Getting full marks is much to easy. It is harder for me to fail than pass. I always try to perfectly aim for 1 mark below the highest marks allocated. It takes a lot of skill to pull off. I daresay there are times that I miscue and got full marks instead.
Navin: That's interesting. How's your love life?
Form: Well, i have only 1 sentence for this. Full of Forms.

Navin: Valentine's Day is coming. Do you have any plans?
Form: Well yes. A whole day of it. I carefully, secretly, considerately, thoughtfully created a foolproof plan for that day itself. Basically, I'll be going on a dating spree. Every hour, the girl is different. *smirks* The best will be left for the last. *winks*

Navin: Wow. I'm stunned speechless. How do you do it?
Form: As i said, careful planning. Of course, I'm currently taking a CDS called FoM, which stands for Fundamentals of Management. I manage my time properly. I am able to balance games, girls, sleep, meals and studies. Did i say girls? Well, it's worth mentioning it again! Girls!

Navin: With the exams just round the corner, what are your thoughts?
Form: Well, no kick. That's all. This is like peanuts to me.

Navin: Ohhh kay... do you have any... bad habits?
Form: Hmmm... well yes. If Jovan's pencil is vulnerable (meaning Jovan is asleep and the pencil is out in the open), i WILL take it. *grins* I wouldn't really call it a bad habit, it's become somewhat like an instinct. If I'm not directly beside Jovan, someone else will take it for me. Actually, this "habit" didn't start from me. Jon was the one who started it

Navin: So, any last words?

What else could I say? It's been an interesting year and I'm almost done with "Hell Week" with the 4th obstacle being the recently conducted Cell Biology Test . I decided to pen a factual article this time. Okay, who am I joking? A sub-factual article then. ;)

Ladies & Ladies (no gentlemen mind you, unless you're gay), here it is, the interview you've been waiting for. In all his glory, style, substance, boyish-looks and wholesome charm, or lack thereof, here he is; Jovan Ang In Interview.

(Disclaimer: Due to Jovan's inability to speak in sensible grammatically correct sentences, because of his Gaming Addiction, we had our fellow Blog Administrator/Editor Jonathan Choo carry out intepretor duties for this interview. Jonathan was a student of "Jovanish Language & Culture" CDS in his first semester. Unfortunately for the screaming girls out there, this CDS is still in it's pilot trial phase and might only be available in 2010.)

Qai: Welcome to our Newsroom Jovan, how was the trip here?

Jovan: Liek your FASE!
Jonathan translates: "My trip here was fine, my mum sends me to and from school. She's quite a good driver, my mom, so i arrive promptly. Maybe a little late at times."

Qai: So let's get down to business, I heard that your pretty popular with the girls out there. I heard some of them randomly ask your classmates about you in lectures and some others watch you from the sidelines and upper seats of the lecture theatres and tutorial classrooms. What do you have to say to that?

Jovan: Yo` MOM!
Jonathan translates: I've heard of such things but I'm unsure if it's true. I'm not currently into girls actually. I mean, I'm not gay or anything it's just that I have a passion for WOW:World Of Warcraft. WOW takes up most of my time outside school, so i guess I take quite an ignorant stance towards the matter.(Laughs)

Qai: Hahaha, so I guess it's all Raid Partys then?

Jovan: IN THE DEPTHS OF THE OCEAN BLUE! Where the stars shine and the fishes swim in perfect unison; and where the mermaids hum a melody of sorrows and desolation!
Jonathan translates: Oh not exactly, I occasionally play Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead when I get bored of WOW, though you can say that WOW has been and still will be my muse for quite some time to come.

Qai: So getting back to the girls eh. Mind my asking, with the riot of girls going crazy over you and you being single, has there been any girls who've been brave enough to approach you pesonally?

Jovan: IT'S OVER NINE THOUSAND!
Jonathan translates: That question I cannot answer for confidentiality reasons (smiles). But this I will tell you; like I said, girls are not really important in my life right now and games are the current mainstay but maybe, just maybe I might not mind a girl who plays WOW. We could like go on raids together and stuff. No guarantees though.(chuckles to himself)

Qai: I guess it's not your current flavour huh. Let's talk about other things, shall we? Critics are saying that your Gaming Addiction is taking a toll on your studies and that you've been plagued with questionable grades. What do you make of these allegations?

Jovan: WA LAO! WHO TOOK MY PENCIL??!!
Jonathan translates: What can I say? If you're a good gamer people will always criticize some other aspect of your life. I tend to dominate online and some people get jealous, so they look for other ways to make me look bad. As for the grades, they're my personal matter and is not something that anyone should poke their nose into. All I have to say to that is this; I'm performing up to my expectations both in my Core Modules as well as my Cross-Disciplinary Modules.

Qai: My apologies on that question. Anyway speaking of school, I have noticed and some people are wondering, why do you go everywhere with your earphones on even during lecture and tutorials?

Jovan: NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP!
Jonathan translates: I love music, it's another major part of my life. You could say that I go everywhere with my iPod Nano. I listen to a wide selection of Songs from Hardcore Rock to some modern rock and since I'm a Christian, I have some gospel tracks in my iPod with some sermons as well.

Joniel (right) has veins on top! Jonae (left) doesn't because there's an ba-lu-gu (swell). I got the ba-lu-gu recently only. Jonae used to have veins ): Now he's depressed. Next, let's look at Jonae's 'backside'.You can go 'What the fuck' is that?' Yes. I went 'What the fook' when i saw this aw-bak-kak (blue-black) on Jonae's backside. Guess how i managed to get an aw-bak-kak and a ba-lu-gu for Jonae.

*drumroll*

Well you see, last Friday... Mark, Ifah, Navin, Shaz, Hwa Leong and I were on the *******. There were 2 ways to get down the 10th floor to the 9th floor. One, the ladder. Two, act cute and mimic superman (know what i meant right?). Guess which one i chose >_>

Heck, I didn't even notice i 'superman-ed' quite a height.

Noticing the current lack of nonsensical articles being put to publish this 2009, I decided to take a fresh perspective on the matter and added this latest entry.

Presenting.....(it's about time she's featured).....A8G3's Administrative and Leisure Ambassador for AY08/09 our one and only Class Representative, Shazzana!

A8G5's Dineesha's recent invitation-only Birthday Party at East Coast Park on the 31st of January 2009, saw 4 of our classmates having the exclusive privilege of attending. (Once again: Happy 18th Birthday Dineesha!).

A8G3's diplomatic envoy consisting of Mark, Navin, Shaz and Qai came to the party with the intention of celebrating Dinee's 18th Birthday as well as strengthen diplomatic relations with the other four Biomedical Science Classes. The party included Food, Drinks, Games and the occasional uncontrollable laughter by the various parties present that night.

Our diplomatic envoy had exclusively sponsored Party Wear by Designer Labels: Anazzahs, Nivan and Rizdnum. Modelling such fashion labels are our very own Shazzana, Navin and Qhairil.

Qai: Who is that? Navin: I need to scratch my knee. Shaz: What just happened? Dineesha: Hey! I'm ok again and look, there's a camera!

Qai: I want to ride my bicycle! Navin: Ribena!! Shaz: Oook oook oook aak aaak aak! Dineesha: OMG I can fly!

Qai: Aaaah I can finally let one out. Navin: Something smells. Shaz: We stand together! Dineesha: Whose your Birthday Girl, B*tch?!

Sup people, hope you guys and girls are enjoying your holidays, I would like to remind all of you here that you HAVE to choose PST/BMT sometime next week (Friday, i think). For those that are still indecisive, start thinking about which one you want to go to. For those who have already decided, ponder for a few minutes if the your choice is what you really want.

You all probably won't forget, but, just in case...
There will be a Christmas Party specially for us A8G3-ians this coming Monday. Please remember to bring along $11 to pay for food. The venue is Ballota Park. Timing is 5pm onwards. If i'm not mistaken, you can take bus number 2 and 5 to reach there. For more info, please contact Mark.
